On Friday, 13 firefighters from Tampa Fire Rescue and Tampa Firefighters Local 754 delivered two truckloads of toys to pediatric patients in the Children’s Medical Center at Tampa General Hospital. This is the eighth year the toy donation has taken place, spearheaded by Driver Engineer Warren Gibbs, who has been with TFR for over 16 years. Some kids well enough to go outside were able to check out TFR Truck 14, with its ladder raised and a brief siren demonstration. The team brought hundreds of toys into the hospital, where they sorted and picked toys for individual patients based on their ages and interests. Toys were donated by a variety of sources, from firefighters and their families to friends and residents of Tampa.
