IAFF Local 754
Tampa Firefighters Local 754 is the exclusive collective bargaining representative for the firefighters and other fire personnel included in the Tampa Fire Rescue bargaining unit.
Chartered by the International Association of Fire Fighters on June 11, 1943, Local 754 has represented generations of Tampa firefighters in matters involving safety, health, compensation, benefits, working conditions, and employment rights.
In January 1944, Tampa was one of six charter locals that formed the Florida Professional Firefighters, helping establish statewide representation for professional firefighters and emergency medical personnel. On August 11, 1976, the Florida Public Employees Relations Commission formally recognized Local 754 as the exclusive bargaining representative for the covered Tampa Fire Rescue bargaining unit.
Local 754 negotiates and enforces the collective bargaining agreement, represents members in workplace and disciplinary matters, processes grievances, and advocates for fair treatment, safe staffing, proper equipment, competitive compensation, retirement security, health benefits, and strong workplace protections.
Our advocacy extends to Tampa City Hall, the Florida Legislature, and the broader community. We work with elected officials, labor organizations, and community leaders to advance firefighter health and safety, cancer and behavioral-health protections, workers’ compensation, staffing, emergency-response resources, and public safety.
Local 754 members also participate in community service, charitable efforts, and initiatives that support Tampa residents and families in need.
For more than eight decades, Tampa Firefighters Local 754 has stood for unity, integrity, service, and solidarity. We remain committed to protecting our members, strengthening the fire service, and serving the people of Tampa.
United for our members. Committed to our community. Protecting those who protect Tampa.
