Choking — Self-Care for Choking

 

  1. If you are alone and choking, find an object such as a chair or counter. Place your fist in the middle of your abdomen just above the navel and below the ribs.

     

  2. Forcefully press the hard object against your fist to try to dislodge whatever is choking you.
