Symptoms
 | Bruises
 | Coughing or vomiting blood
 | Rectal bleeding
 | Vaginal (but not menstrual) bleeding
 | Blood in urine
 | Bleeding from the nose or ear
 | Skull, chest or abdominal wounds
 | Dizziness
 | Fainting
 | Weak pulse
 | Shortness of breath
 | Shallow breathing
 | Dilated pupils
 | Pale, clammy skin |

Caution
Do you suspect a head, neck or
back injury?
First Aid
- Check the victim's ABCs. If
the victim is not breathing or does not have a pulse or
heartbeat, begin CPR.
While you wait for medical help, periodically recheck the
victim's ABCs.
- Keep the victim calm and still. Do not give him
anything to eat or drink.
- If the victim's arm or leg is swollen or mis-shapen,
immobilize it.

- Begin treatment for shock
while you wait for medical help.
