First Aid

  1. Check the victim's ABCs. If the victim is not breathing or does not have a pulse or heartbeat, begin CPR.

  2. Make the victim comfortable and keep him or her calm. Loosen any tight clothing, especially around the victim's neck, chest and waist. Keep the victim warm. If necessary, cover him with a blanket or additional clothing. Stroke the victim's forehead with a cool, wet cloth. If the victim is unconscious, place him in the recovery position.

  3. Continue to monitor the victim's breathing and pulse, and, if necessary, begin CPR.
