— Arterial Pressure Points
It's best to stop bleeding by applying direct pressure to
the wound, because this interferes less with the blood supply
to other tissues than arterial pressure does. However, if you
cannot stop bleeding with direct pressure alone, also apply
pressure with your fingers held flat against the arterial
pressure point that is closest to the wound, between it and
the heart.
